Giving Back to our Community

Charity is a year long commitment to Staffing Solutions Enterprises and our employees.  With the support and input from our team, we have incorporated a twelve month charity campaign that we call the SSE Monthly Give Back Program.

The SSE Monthly Give Back Program allows us to help various programs financially during times they need it most…throughout the year. 

We strongly believe that every dollar helps and sometimes the most important thing we can do is to help create awareness for these charities in need.

Below are the twelve charities that our corporate employees selected to support in 2011.

Special Olympics- Our team pulled out their baking skills and turned our lobby into a bakery for the entire building to enjoy.  We also sold Polar Bears ($1 each) and sponsored a “jumper” to fierce the cold weather and icy water and jump into Lake Erie in February for the Polar Plunge.  In addition we collected money weekly from Dress Down Days (employee’s can donate money in exchange for dressing down).

Project Love- We addressed this charity by donating what they needed most at the time and that was helping them spread the word on this worthy cause.  We sent out information to all of our Assignment Employees, staff and clients on how to become active with this charity.  We also collected money to send to the charity.
 
Habitat for Humanity- We collected money from Dress Down Days to help this charity buy the materials they need.  We also spread the word thru payroll stuffers about Disney’s Give a Day get a Day.  We had two staff members participate in the program and were rewarded with giving back and a day at Disney

Reach Out and Read – All Summer Long we have collected new and like new books to donate to this program.  We communicated to our staff, AE’s, partners and clients about this program. One of our partners ERC took up the cause and gathered a box of books for the program.  During the month of June we allowed our staff one dress down day for every two books contributed.  Our last collection event will be held in September and we collected money from Dress Down Day’s for a financial impact also.

Rainbow Baby Hospital- We collected money from our Dress Down Program to purchase a special blanket that allow family members to hold babies

Make A Wish- We collected money from Dress Down Days to support Make a Wish.  We also helped spread the word in our newsletters about this charity.

Animal Protective League- This is a fun charity for our employees to get involved with.  Our team donates all the essentials the APL needs for the shelter such as food and treats, leashes, chew toys etc…We also donated money collected from Dress Down Days.

Multiple Sclerosis – In honor of a long term client, the funds collected on our Dress Down Days  were matched 100% by SSE.

Sarcoidosis- Thru communication we reached out to our contacts to expand awareness of this disease, we collected money from Dress Down Days to support this charity in reaching out to the public

The City Mission- SSE pulled together and collected travel size personal items and created tote bags for the individuals who rely on the mission.  We also donated money from Dress Down Days.

Hattie Larham Foundation - For a special needs student we made a “Flat Assignment Employee” (like a flat Stanley), book (including pictures and removable items (time sheets)  We collected money from Dress Down Days to support this charity.

National Down Syndrome Society - This is a new charity for 2010. We plan on dusting off the tennis shoes for a walk at the end of September and will collect money  from our Dress Down Days.

In addition to our monthly give back campaign, we also support other charities such as…

United Way – We participate in a Pacesetter Campaign every year.  We have been successful in reaching our goal of 100% staff participation and contribution increase 5% over prior year for the last five years. Employees have the option to donate automatically from each paycheck throughout the year.  In addition we coordinated a raffle and did a bake sale to help add to the total donation.

Battered Women’s Shelter – We collected clothes, purses, and new stockings, slips and undergarments for women to be able to go to work when they left everything behind for shelter.


Completed campaign for Donate Life Ohio “Donate 8 Save 8” thru communications (external and internal) and encouraging all staff to register as a donor.
